This project, managed by the VSBA, encompasses the design and construction of four primary schools, one secondary college, two early learning centres (ELCs) and two kindergartens with a total combined construction value of over $260M+.
The single storey buildings were designed as timber framed structures, comprising load-bearing timber stud framed walls and prefabricated timber trusses, fast-tracking the procurement and bypassing the lengthy steel shop drawing process required with a more conventional steel framed roof. This also allowed flexibility with the framing being substituted with cold-formed steel framing to suit pricing and availability, assisting with procurement and delivery of the structure within the tight project program.
